Job Description

The Product Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the messaging, positioning, promotion and overall dissemination of product information as it relates to their respective product(s). This position will act as a critical team member and work in tandem with other sales and marketing professionals in a fast paced, ever-changing environment to help facilitate sales across a variety of alternative investment offerings.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Alongside the SVP, Product Management, act as the key company liaison between capital markets and the product sponsor(s).
  • In-house expert on all topics relating to the respective product(s), industry sector(s) and competition.
  • Provide strategic information to the sales team and financial advisors on timely and relevant data.
  • Maintain product specific resources and data for current offerings.
  • Work in concert with sales management to provide consistent and effective training for all levels of the sales force.
  • Responsible for driving product goals specific to current strategies and company initiatives. Activities may include conference calls, webinars and campaigns to drive new producers, Advisor Portal traffic, etc.
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking, company comparison write-ups and maintain a database of industry data and resources.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least 3+ years in the financial services industry with a minimum of 2 years focusing on Alternative Investments.
  • Licenses Required: Series 7 and Series 63
  • Limited travel to industry conferences as needed.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work independently and balance many tasks within tight time constraints and deadlines.
  • Strong initiative, energetic work habits and dedication to job. Diligent and proactive.
  • Solid interpersonal and relationship building skills. Team player who provides support to fellow department members.
  • Computer skills: Intermediate MS Office (particularly Excel).
